Smoking and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Workers at the Karolinska institute in Stockholm decided to look to see if they could find a link between smoking and RA. They found that heavy smokers who smoked for at least 20 years, were 2.5 times more likely to contain an antibody closely associated with RA and especially with a severe form of the condition.
